Each year the LAC-CORE board of directors nominates candidates of professionals from Latin America and the Caribbean that have made a positive impact on the development of renewable energy, sustainability, and reduction of carbon footprint in the region. The nominees can be of any gender, and may come from the public, private or non-profit sectors. They may hold public office currently or have done so in the past.
LAC-CORE’s board then elects a recipient. The award is then given before the press during the course of LAC-CORE’s annual conference, the Renewable Energy Finance Forum (REFF), held each March in Miami, Florida, USA.
